I think I've finally decided that for blogging purposes, WordPress is going to be my home. I like that they have an app and that I can post on the go. I think that will ultimately serve me better. I also think that for now I'll keep just one blog. Hashtags are a thing anyway, right? I think with time I'll develop more than one blog but having multiple ones is going to just be confusing. I also don't think I'll consistently post across a bunch of places.
2020 is going to be my year of focus. Shop and stock, get myself out there. There's only one life and I have a lot to experience!

The good news? I'm blogging more often! The bad news? I have way too many different ideas. I'm not sure if I should just keep them all in one blog or make multiple blogs. So far I've done the latter by making my Tasty Tweaks food blog. I really want to try to keep that one separate...but I think my tea one will be merged into this one. It's too much work to try and keep everything straight. Also, who writes in three different blogs successfully?!
I'm also strongly considering moving my blogs to Wordpress. Not that I don't like Weebly for my site but blogging is a bitch. It's not fast, I have to make "posts" as if I was building a site, and it's not fast. Oh, wait, I said that. Ok, it's not "easy" at all. And forget about posting from my phone. Yeah, I can but that's even MORE painful. Fuck all that noise. So I'm open to suggestions. One blog? More blogs? Topic specific blogs? With the death of Google+ it's hard to keep up on things but hey, at least I have a space to put my thoughts! I was recently contacted about a post I made a few years ago but then I realized it was on my old Blogger blog and not here. Since I want everything to stay together, nice and organized, I'm adjusting this site to accommodate. If you came here directly, head over to the home page and you'll see some new link buttons. These will direct you out to my old blog and my Doppler Doodle page from WAAY back in 2014. Ancient history!
So if you've been paying attention to my Instagram feed, you'd have seen my newly created Kobuus! They are cute little balls of squishy fluff for you to mash in times of stress or display in a parade across your desk. The first themed Kobuu is below, Kobuu goes to Disney!! Look at that cute hat!! If you click on the picture, you can go right to the Etsy listing to buy yours! I have many more Kobuus in the works and, yes, you can just get a regular Kobuu because they are SO ADORABLE!!!
Also, new portfolio pics!! Finally getting around to updating the portfolio with some new content and it's lookin' great! It's spring...well, sort of. It's March, still cold, hopefully soon we'll have some warmer weather. ::crosses fingers:: We shall see! Weather man says we're supposed to be warmer this week but this is New England. In other news, I have YOSHIS!!! They are SO cute! Yellow's lookin' a little wee but that's fine. Adds to his character. Check'em out! Funny thing is I didn't even think that Yoshi's Crafted World was happening I just wanted these guys on my desk. If you want one, check out my store!!
That's all for now! Wow, I haven't blogged since my birthday?! What is wrong with me??! Well, I can tell you that life has certainly not been boring. Between work, sales in the shop, and going on vaca, it's been interesting!!
More exciting news is bound for the new year but for now I just wanted to wish everyone a happy holidays from Krafted by Kobuu!! ...but I'm not!! 36, or 6 squared. Now I have to wait another 15 years before the next one at 49...and that's about the end of my math, LOL. Thanks goes to my uncle for pointing that out as I totally wouldn't have thought of it. I'm more thinking about the fact that I'm closer to 40 than 30 but then, I feel about the same as 35. Celebrating started on Friday night with some knitting at my local group. I finished up my most recent make and it came out great!! I still need to find some big buttons for accents and a buckle for the side strap (where my hand is holding it on my hip), but it's pretty much done! Sadly, I don't think I'll be making another one of these. I like the outcome but the pattern was a real bear. I'd have to be strongly campaigned to make another one. You can check out the Ravelry project page if you want more details from a crafter's perspective here. Then when I got home my absolutely amazing husband surprised me with a Nintendo Switch!!! I've been playing it off and on in between chores, crafting, and FFXIV. #toomanyhobbies Saturday was a little bit of a breakfast adventure to our favorite place, Mad Hatter Cafe in Weymouth. We got there and they said it was a 90 minute wait! Apparently one of the chef's didn't show nor did half the new waitstaff. Personally I think they shouldn't have opened at that point but it's their first weekend in their new location. We'll wait a bit before heading back down there but hopefully they get themselves sorted quickly! Saturday night was a night out in Cambridge! First dinner and drinks at The Druid and then on to dessert at Asgard. Of course, what birthday would be complete without a surprise from mom & dad crashing the table and treating hubs and I to the meal?! EVERYTHING was delicious and they had live Irish fiddler's playing while we were there. It's a little crowded but everyone was friendly and the staff were lovely.
We ended the night at my apartment, watching YouTube silliness and having a few final drinks before my dad presented me with a bike! It's his old Peugeot from when he served overseas so I will have to take extra care with it but hopefully I can start biking to work and keep myself a little more fit! All in all, a wonderful birthday. A nice way to ring another year gone by. ::singing:: "This is Halloween, this is Halloween..." Yes it is! I'm not really that big into Halloween but my office allowed us all to wear jeans so long as you were wearing some kind of costume. So I had to think kind of fast and yesterday I cranked out a crown. Easy. Once that was done, I just needed to make it contextual. I mean, who just wears a crown? What am I supposed to be?! I brainstormed, went home, and thought it through. Then I remembered I had made Stephen West's "Lost & Found" ! It's kind of like a cape, kind of like a jacket, but could totally be "regal" in a way. Ok, ok, cape and crown. I'm on my way to something kinda kingly. Oh wait! I have a GIANT crochet hook, too! And so, 'King Crafter' was born! TA DA! I know, nothing super wonderful, but it got me jeans on a Wednesday. So there. Also, that hook has a special name. It's Zed, as in the last letter of the alphabet. There's no such thing as a size 'Z' hook in crochet, at least not that I've ever seen, and this one was custom made. And the look went over well with the other office peeps who all loved the crown. That's all that matters!
Tonight, the door stays shut, there is no candy, just a pork roast and playing with my new router. Gonna be fun!! Have fun, be safe, and Happy Halloween!! Not much is happening in the great Northeast. At least not yet. I heard a rumor of a "nor'easter" this weekend but no one could confirm if that was rain or snow. It's not quite November though so I'm totally hoping it's just rain. I guess we'll see!
Shop-wise, there will be some new listings coming up! I have a fall set that I'm tweaking although I might hold off until next year. I'm also working on a Christmas-y set. I think it will be cute on a desk or shelf. Below is a little photoshoot I had yesterday with Little Luffy at my desk! SO CUTE!! That hat is completely removable and Luffy's hair is nicely laid out on his head. You can order yours here if you want and bring a little ONEPIECE to your life! Listing here: Little Luffy Here in New England, we're finally into FALL!!! Today is a perfect fall day so long as the sun hangs around. Right now it's tea and crochet time. Need to finish this hat before the Mr. and I go into town tonight to see CHVRCHES!! I am SO excited!
Honestly not much else going on. Probably going to play some video games today too just to fill in the time. Now I just need to find a place for dinner! |
