My age is a square...

...but I'm not!! 36, or 6 squared. Now I have to wait another 15 years before the next one at 49...and that's about the end of my math, LOL. Thanks goes to my uncle for pointing that out as I totally wouldn't have thought of it. I'm more thinking about the fact that I'm closer to 40 than 30 but then, I feel about the same as 35.

Celebrating started on Friday night with some knitting at my local group. I finished up my most recent make and it came out great!! I still need to find some big buttons for accents and a buckle for the side strap (where my hand is holding it on my hip), but it's pretty much done! Sadly, I don't think I'll be making another one of these. I like the outcome but the pattern was a real bear. I'd have to be strongly campaigned to make another one. You can check out the Ravelry project page if you want more details from a crafter's perspective here.
Then when I got home my absolutely amazing husband surprised me with a Nintendo Switch!!! I've been playing it off and on in between chores, crafting, and FFXIV. #toomanyhobbies

Saturday was a little bit of a breakfast adventure to our favorite place, Mad Hatter Cafe in Weymouth. We got there and they said it was a 90 minute wait! Apparently one of the chef's didn't show nor did half the new waitstaff. Personally I think they shouldn't have opened at that point but it's their first weekend in their new location. We'll wait a bit before heading back down there but hopefully they get themselves sorted quickly!

Saturday night was a night out in Cambridge! First dinner and drinks at The Druid and then on to dessert at Asgard. Of course, what birthday would be complete without a surprise from mom & dad crashing the table and treating hubs and I to the meal?!

There's absolutely no family resemblance at all, right?
EVERYTHING was delicious and they had live Irish fiddler's playing while we were there. It's a little crowded but everyone was friendly and the staff were lovely.

We ended the night at my apartment, watching YouTube silliness and having a few final drinks before my dad presented me with a bike! It's his old Peugeot from when he served overseas so I will have to take extra care with it but hopefully I can start biking to work and keep myself a little more fit!

All in all, a wonderful birthday. A nice way to ring another year gone by.
